Itinerary
Day 1: Paddle Station Café – Bac Pier (Ben Bac) – Red River – Long Bien Bridge

* Joined-Group Tour: Depending on current weather conditions and the overall paddling proficiency of the group members, the lead guide will carefully evaluate and decide whether to operate Route Option 1 or Route Option 2 to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment for everyone.

* Private Tour: Guests have the flexibility to independently select either Route Option 1 or Route Option 2 based on their personal physical capabilities. However, a prior consultation with a travel expert from Umove Adventure is required when booking the tour to determine the most suitable itinerary.

Option 1: Bac Pier – Long Bien Bridge Route

13:00 Board the transfer vehicle at the designated meeting point and head towards Bac Pier (Ben Bac), the starting point of our SUP expedition.

13:20 Arrive at Bac Pier. The group will work together to inflate the SUP boards, participate in a thorough warm-up session, and attentively listen to a comprehensive safety briefing and paddling instructions provided by our expert guides.

14:00 Launch the boards and begin paddling gently downstream toward the historic Long Bien Bridge. Along this scenic waterway, we will make a scheduled stop at a pristine riverbank, allowing you to take a refreshing swim in the river.

17:00 We will dock at a secluded mid-river sandbank to rest and recharge. Here, you will be served delicious snacks alongside chilled beverages. This is the perfect moment to fully unwind and soak in the magnificent, golden sunset casting its glow over the Red River.

18:30 Paddle the final stretch back to the pier, then board the transfer vehicle for the return journey to your original pick-up/drop-off point. The program officially concludes.

Option 2: Bac Pier – Red River & Duong River Confluence – Doi Co Temple Route

13:00 Board the transfer vehicle at the designated meeting point and head towards Bac Pier to commence our SUP journey.

13:20 Arrive at Bac Pier. We will inflate the paddleboards, conduct a proper physical warm-up, and receive detailed safety guidelines and paddling techniques from the lead guide.

14:00 Set off on the water, paddling downstream in the direction of the Nhat Tan Bridge.

16:00 Pull over at a peaceful, spacious riverbank to relax, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, and capture the beautiful sunset over the water.

17:30 Navigate the boards back to the pier. From there, board the vehicle for a comfortable drive back to your initial pick-up/drop-off point, marking the end of the excursion.

Difficulty of the activity

Difficulty Level (5/10): Most people can participate in the time, children from 6 years old and above also can join with parents. It will be easier and more comfortable for you to experience outdoor activities if you have good preparation for physical training before the trip. The duration of each trip is 2 days generally. With those trekking tours at this level, it might take 2 – 3 hours/day to do the trek with the relatively easy terrain. At the same level, the kayaking and SUP tours, 2 – 3 hours/ days paddling with the large water surface, and plenty of times to take photos and rest as well. 

Suggested physical training: Practice running or kayaking/SUP 1 - 2 weeks in advance. Run twice a week, each session 3 - 5km every night. Or paddling from 2- 3 times, each time is 5 km.

1. Travel insurance

● Umove Adventure uses service from Bảo Việt Insurance with a maximum insurance payout of 100 million VND/person/case.

● The customers who buy adventure tours from Umove Adventure have enough awareness about the level of challenge as well as other physical challenges and other potential dangers during the tour. 4. Notes on the SUP paddle route

● Before entering the water, you will receive theoretical guidance, including techniques, how to use the equipment, and safety instructions.  

● You need to wear a life jacket and a leash properly.  

● When paddling, be aware to avoid obstacles such as branches and stones. Staying close to the shore and always watching out for motorboats on the river.  

● Strictly following the instructions of the tour guide.

5. Drinking water & snacks

● Drinking water will be provided in abundance for the whole trip and during the paddle. Umove Adventure encourages customers to minimize the use of disposable plastic and nylon products, so we recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to refill from the large containers we provide.  

● Snacks include cold drinks, fruits, and cookies. If you are on a diet or have special dietary requirements, please prepare your own snacks.

6. Protecting the environment together

● In order to limit the use of single-use plastic, Umove Adventure encourages each of us to prepare for ourselves a bottle of water with a 1L capacity for daily water refilling.

● On the tour, tourists comply with the instructions and regulations on environmental protection at the destination. 

7. Medical assistance

● If you have cardiovascular disease or bone and joint diseases (knees, ankles, shoulder joints, etc.), you should consult your doctor before deciding to join the trip. 

● In any case, if you go into the water to swim, you must wear a life jacket.

 

Q&A
1. What is the best time to join this program?

The Red River is an ideal destination for watching the sunset at any time of the year. In spring, the Red River is filled with the scent of straw and the bustling atmosphere of Tet. From April to October is the perfect time for SUP paddling to enjoy the scenic plains, and starting in October, the white reeds will gradually bloom. At this time, you can paddle among the white reeds swaying gently on the calm Red River.

 

2. What is the minimum age for children to join this tour?

If children paddle by themselves, they must be at least 14 years old. If they sit with an adult in a kayak or SUP, they can join from around 8 years old.

 

3. Can I join this tour if I have never paddled a SUP/kayak before?

The tour has a difficulty level of 5/10, so even those who have never paddled a SUP before can participate. Before you go on the water, the guide will instruct the group on basic paddling skills and safety techniques for SUP. Guests will have time to familiarize themselves with the SUP before paddling.

 

4. Can I join this tour if I am going alone?

This is a join-in group tour, so you can join it alone. However, the minimum number of participants for the tour to proceed is 4 people. If there aren’t enough participants, UA will notify you at least one week in advance so you can decide to reschedule or get your deposit back.

 

5. How much deposit do I need to pay when registering? When is the remaining amount due?

When registering for the tour, customers must pay a 50% deposit via bank transfer or card through Onepay. The remaining 50% must be paid no later than 1 day before the departure date, also via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. 

UA will not confirm the booking until the deposit for the tour is received.

6. Can I postpone/cancel the tour before the departure date?

Depending on how far in advance you postpone or cancel relative to the departure date, you may have to pay a fee. If you want to change the departure date or switch to another tour, Umove Adventure will adjust the departure date for you and may charge a fee (or not). For details, please refer to our cancellation policy. 

 

7. If I am vegetarian (or have a dietary restriction), can the tour accommodate this?

You need to inform Umove Adventure about your vegetarian or dietary requirements before booking the tour. We will check if the destination can accommodate those needs and let you know. Usually, Umove Adventure will have vegetarian options available for customers depending on the tour location.

 

8. What camping equipment will Umove Adventure provide for this tour?

9. Can I bring my pet (dog/cat) along?

Umove Adventure does not organize tours specifically for guests with pets, so bringing a pet will depend on the agreement of the other passengers on the tour. If you wish to bring your pet, Umove Adventure will consult with everyone on the tour for their agreement, and you will be fully responsible for ensuring cleanliness and the safety of your pet.

 

10. Can I participate if I don’t know how to swim?

You can still participate if you don’t know how to swim, provided you absolutely follow the safety instructions from the guide. 100% of participants who want to get into the water to swim while paddling must wear life jackets and have a safety leash on.
