04:30 Arrive in Sapa. Get off the bus, stretch and acclimatise to the highland climate. Transfer to the breakfast point, freshen up and leave behind any belongings that are not needed during the trek, such as clean clothes for changing after the descent.

07:00 A 16-seater vehicle picks up the group for the transfer to the trekking area at Nhiu Co San Village, Sang Ma Sao, approximately 60km from Sapa.

08:30 Transfer to local motorbike taxis for the final approximately 7km to the trekking starting point in Nhiu Co San Village.

09:30 Begin trekking. The route passes Ong Chua Waterfall before continuing across dramatic mountain slopes and through the dense old-growth forest of Nhiu Co San.

12:00 Lunch along the trail. Continue trekking towards the overnight shelter after lunch.

16:30 Arrive at the mountain shelter at approximately 2,800m as the sun begins to set. Settle in and freshen up. Spend the remaining time resting, helping the porter team prepare dinner, or taking a short walk to enjoy the sunset.

18:30 Dinner and time together around the fire. In clear weather, enjoy a star-filled night sky in the quiet mountain surroundings. Overnight in a wooden mountain shelter.

04:00 Wake up early and have breakfast. Enjoy hot coffee or ginger tea before the final ascent.

05:00 Begin the final climb to Nhiu Co San summit. Leave unnecessary personal belongings at the shelter and carry only essential items.

07:30 Reach the 2,965m summit. Take photos, rest and enjoy the panoramic mountain scenery.

09:30 Return to the shelter, collect personal belongings and begin the descent. The return route passes broad grasslands used by local people for grazing goats.

12:00 Lunch along the trail.

15:00 Reach the foot of the mountain. Take local motorbike taxis back to the commune centre and transfer by vehicle to Sapa.

17:00 Arrive in Sapa, collect stored belongings and enjoy a traditional herbal bath. Relax in Sapa before dinner at a local restaurant.

22:00 Board the overnight sleeper bus to Hanoi. Expected arrival in Hanoi is around 04:00 the following morning. End of tour.

Each period of year offers its own unique beauty at Nhiu Co San. From September to November, you can admire the golden hues of the rice fields and the red of the maple leaves. From November to January, Nhiu Co San is blanketed in thick fog, and if you're lucky, you may encounter frost and snow covering the trees and plants. This period is also ideal for cloud hunting. In March and April, the peak of Nhiu Co San transforms into a "capital" of rhododendron flowers, where you can witness an endless forest of blooms stretching toward the horizon.

UA does not recommend this tour for children due to the high difficulty level. However, children over 12 years old who have prior experience with adventure tours may register to join, accompanied by an adult.

This is a multi-day trek with challenging terrain, as it covers one of the 15 highest peaks in Vietnam. If you have never climbed a mountain or exercised infrequently, you should prepare physically before the trip. You can refer to preparation guidelines for a trek rated 7/10 difficulty here.

This is a group tour, so you can join by yourself. However, the tour requires a minimum of 7 participants to proceed. If the minimum number is not met, UA will notify you a week in advance, allowing you to either change your departure date or receive a refund of your deposit.

Upon registering, customers must deposit 50% of the total tour cost via bank transfer or credit card through Onepay. The remaining 50% must be paid no later than one day before departure, also via bank transfer or Onepay. 

UA will not confirm your booking until the deposit has been received.

Depending on how far in advance you cancel or postpone, you may incur a fee. If you wish to change your departure date or switch to another tour, Umove Adventure will reschedule for you and may or may not charge a fee. Please see our Cancellation Policy for details.

You must inform Umove Adventure of your dietary requirements, such as vegetarian or other dietary restrictions, before booking. We will check whether the destination can accommodate your needs and inform you accordingly. Generally, Umove Adventure offers vegetarian options depending on the tour location.

Umove Adventure does not organize tours specifically for pet owners, so bringing a pet depends on the consent of the other participants. If you wish to bring a pet, Umove Adventure will consult with the other group members for their approval, and you will be fully responsible for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring your pet’s safety.

For deep forest journeys, latrines will be used, with rangers designating a discreet and private location for you. At the wooden shelter where we spend the night, there will be toilets and showers available for your personal needs.

Our campsite is at an altitude of 2800m, where phone reception will no longer be available. Please take care of any personal matters before starting your journey to conquer Nhìu Cổ San.
